The United Nations-mandated University for Peace
The United Nations-mandated University for Peace (UPeace) was originally established through a United Nations General Assembly resolution. The university has master degree programs that focus on international law and human rights, gender and peacebuilding, natural resources and sustainable development, among others. Each year, students from around the world attend the university, based in El Rodeo, Costa Rica. The location was chosen because of Costa Rica’s commitment to peace and environmental conservation.
The Centre for Executive Education at UPeace
The Centre for Executive Education at UPeace delivers dynamic courses to leaders from around the world. The approach to all courses is innovative, interactive, and participant-centered, using case-studies and field trips when appropriate. The Centre aims to develop key leadership skills by incorporating the following crosscutting themes:
